The digital Moonwell Card can be used online and with Apple Pay or Google Pay for in-store purchases. The physical card, available in January 2025, provides additional flexibility for purchases requiring a physical swipe or chip insert.

Card Usage and Features

Where can I use the Moonwell Card?

You can use the Moonwell Card wherever VISA is accepted, both in-store and online, making it perfect for everyday purchases, international shopping, and bill payments.

How do I load funds onto my Moonwell Card?

You have multiple options for loading your card through the Moonwell app:

  • Load: Use USDC already in your wallet.

  • Borrow and Load: Borrow USDC against your supplied assets on Moonwell.

  • Auto Load: Deposit USDC into the Moonwell Flagship USDC Vault and configure Auto Load to load your card when funds drop below a set threshold

What assets can I use with the Moonwell Card?

The Moonwell app currently only supports loading with USDC. However, you can use the Cypher Moonwell Card Dashboard to load your card many other tokens on Base, not just USDC.

Does the Moonwell Card work with Apple Pay or Google Pay?

The card is compatible with Apple Pay and Google Pay for secure and convenient payments.

Can I earn rewards or cashback with the Moonwell Card?

While the Moonwell Card doesn’t offer direct cashback, you can earn WELL and MORPHO rewards and borrower interest by depositing USDC in Moonwell’s Flagship USDC Vault. The upcoming Auto Load feature will allow you to spend seamlessly without interrupting your yield.

Can I transfer funds back from the card to my wallet?

At this time, funds loaded onto the card cannot be transferred back to your wallet as crypto. To convert loaded funds back into crypto, you would need to use the card to purchase crypto directly.

Why do some vendors default to HKD instead of USD when I use my Moonwell Card?

Some vendors, like Amazon, may default to HKD (Hong Kong Dollars) because the issuing bank (Reap) is based in Hong Kong. This is not an issue with your Moonwell Card but rather a default vendor setting. You can manually adjust the currency to USD in the vendor's checkout process or payment settings.

Auto Load

What is Auto Load and how does it work?

Auto Load keeps your card funded automatically. You set a balance threshold and top-up amount, and when your balance falls below a set threshold, the card reloads with USDC from your Moonwell Flagship USDC Vault holdings.

Can I customize Auto Load settings?

Yes, Auto Load allows you to set both the balance threshold (when reloading occurs) and the top-up amount, giving you full control over how and when your card is funded.

What happens if I want to pause Auto Load temporarily?

You can easily pause Auto Load by using the Pause toggle in the configuration settings. Your settings will be saved, and you can resume Auto Load whenever you want.

How do I choose my minimum balance and reload amounts?

You can set these based on your spending habits:

  • Minimum Balance: The amount that triggers an auto reload when reached

  • Reload Amount: How much will be automatically added to your card when triggered

Will I be notified when Auto Load adds money to my card?

Yes, you'll receive real-time alerts via email or Telegram whenever Auto Load performs a top-up to your card.

Can I change my Auto Load settings after setting them up?

Yes, you can modify your minimum balance and reload amounts at any time through the Auto Load configuration panel.

What's the difference between pausing and disabling Auto Load?

Pausing temporarily stops Auto Load while saving your settings for later use. Disabling completely removes your Auto Load configuration and you'll need to set it up again if you want to use it.

Do I need to keep checking my card balance with Auto Load?

No, that's the beauty of Auto Load! Once set up, it automatically monitors your balance and tops up your card when needed, eliminating the need for manual balance checking.
