# How to Borrow

## About

You can borrow assets using your supplied assets as collateral.

## **Prerequisites**

1. Supply one or more assets to the protocol. This will be used as collateral to take out an over-collateralized loan.
 * All supported assets are listed in [Markets](https://v2.moonwell.fi/markets).
2. Enable asset(s) for use as collateral.
 * The collateral toggle allows users to specify whether they want to use an asset as collateral for borrowing.
 * To designate an asset as collateral, the user must select "**YES**" on the collateral toggle. This indicates their intention to use the asset as collateral for borrowing purposes.
 * For example, if a user wants to borrow against their supplied GLMR (asset), they need to choose "YES" for their supplied GLMR on the collateral toggle. This indicates to Moonwell that the supplied GLMR can be used as collateral to take out a loan (borrow).
 * If a user does not intend to borrow against an asset, they can keep the collateral toggle set to "NO". This indicates that the asset will not be used as collateral for borrowing.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.moonwell.fi/moonwell/moonwell-overview/borrow/how-to-borrow.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
